Olivine Sand (EBT Filler)

Olivine Sand with its particular properties of high melting point are used as to block the EBT hole in the furnace, therefore it is also called as EBT Filler in steel making industry.

In aluminium foundry industry, they uses olivine sand to cast objects in aluminium. Olivine sand requires less water than silicon based sand while providing the necessary strength to hold the mold together during handling and pouring of the metal. Less gas (steam) is to vent from the mold as metal is poured into the mold.
